Habitable zone

The minimum and maximum orbital distance between a planet and a star so that the star rays are alone sufficient to maintain water in a liquid state on the surface of a planet. Since liquid water molecules are the essential medium for assembling the vast majority of other, life-giving, molecules, liquid water appears to be the primary component in preparing a planet for the blossoming of life, and thus, habitable.
