THE MARITIME ADVENTURE PARK

The Maritime Adventure Park Overview

The Maritime Adventure Park is a 40- square-kilometer area to the east of Baie-Comeau in Le JARDIN DES GLACIERS. 20,000 years ago the passage of the Laurentian ice cap scarred the landscape in a spectacular way. Today we can observe the entirety of these post-glacial phenomena, of  17 km. of coastal area is an extraordinary example, as well as one of the richest coasts in terms of diversity.

The Ultimate Nature Experience

Our outdoor and interpretation activities, as well as the network of paths and maritime observation points, will allow you to better understand how the last ice age shaped the fluvio-glacial channels, the glacial lakes, the canyons, the moraines, the waterfalls, the deltas, the fjards, the bays, the giant glacial grooves, as well as a phenomenon that is unique in the world: a seashell valley formed and deposited in the middle of the northern forest by the postglacial Goldthwait Sea.

The Maritime Adventure Park offers three guided exploration tours with interpretation, three unguided exploration circuits, and the Adrenaline Zone where a variety of guided activities are offered.

You can also take advantage of our network of footpaths set up with maririme observation sites, rest areas and toilets. Rustic camping sites, prospector tents and Mongolian yurts are offered for overnight stays.

Towards Responsible Tourism

Keeping with responsible tourism practices, and to protect the landscape, the Maritime Adventure Park was built with total respect for the local ecosystems and natural habitats.  We aim to establish the practice of responsible tourism and to pass along sound ecological values. Our charter of sustainable tourism guides our own intervention and that of our visitors. It is important for us to give something positive back to the Baie-Comeau community, and to assure the permanence of these exceptional sites.
